It’s almost winter break, which I’m super excited for. Also, as if I didn’t love college enough already, exams are before break, meaning my entire month off is solely for me to goof off and do as I please. Which makes me way too happy. So yep, I’ll be wrapping up hell week this week with tests in all my subjects and then I get next week off completely to study for finals. The week after that is where I will stress over exams like nobody’s business and then I’m home free. Literally. I haven’t added anything to the site today, but I felt like posting, since I haven’t in a while.

Just to raise the hype: It’s been a while since I last updated and I’ve been learning a bunch of new design techniques. Look forward to the new graphics and check out all the new styles I’ve been experimenting with! (;

So now that I’m free, I should be updating a little bit more regularly. I’ve got a few more exams in two weeks and two the week after that. Then I’m off for my summer vacation. I’ll be in India, so I’m not sure how much I’ll be doing since I won’t have a photoshop program, but I still might blog a bit. This post really doesn’t have anything to do with anything, I just thought I’d let you all know I’m alive. d:

Anywho, I just got back from a State Latin Competition this weekend and it was absolutely amazing! I had so much fun with the team and we did all sorts of crazy stuff. I entered in the Derivatives, Mythology, and Pentathlon as well as competing in a Classical Civ. contest in Electronic Art (graphics). I came in first for my art entry, got sixth in derivatives, and a magna cum laude (with great praise) for my pentathlon score, which was super exciting. It qualified me for nationals, but I’ll be out of the country in the summer when it’s held. /: I’m still really happy, though. And surprised. I actually did the entire project two days before the contest.

And lastly, I need a few lines to spazz, so feel free to turn back now.

MY DAD GOT ME TICKETS TO FLORENCE + THE MACHINE IN MAY. LIKE SERIOUSLY THIS IS A HUGE FREAKING DEAL. I CANNOT WAIT. I HAVE NEVER LOVED MY FATHER MORE. CAN YOU BELIEVE I GET TO SEE HER LIVE EXACTLY A MONTH FROM TODAY? I have it marked on my calendar and have been counting down the days.

P.S.—I’m done with requests. Not only is it a pain for me to keep up with, but people feel that I don’t come back and check to see if they kept the credit on. I’m sick of sending polite emails asking for people to give credit where it is due only to be ripped off again a month later. Honestly, I have no life, I’m bound to find out soon enough. So yeah, no more CSR. Us cowgirls are still debating Canvas, though, so we’ll see if that comes together eventually.

On a much lighter note, I finally got tired of the last layout and decided I wanted something new, so I present you with my latest creation. My last few layouts were pretty bright so I wanted to introduce a dark theme using blacks, browns, and greens. I honestly doubt this one will last more than a month because it seems like such a rush job, but I really enjoyed working on it. It features the marvelous and beautiful Benedict Cumberbatch. I completely fell in love with his portrayal of Sherlock Holmes, my favorite detective, in BBC’s new show Sherlock. He’s a wonderful actor and you should definitely check it out if you haven’t.

I’m currently planning a winter contest, so do let me know if you’re interested. The contest will test your overall web design skill. The contest will need 3 teams of 4, so twelve participants in total. I’ll split the contestants into randomized teams. You will have one week to put together a full-fledged, functioning website according to the criteria provided. You will be judged in aesthetics, organization, practicality, and functionality. The winning team will then be split up. Those four will have to create a graphic of my choosing with the images provided. The top two will face off in the final round, a coding contest. The winner of the contest will get subdomain hosting from myself (if needed or wanted) as well as any graphic/coding/resource of their choosing. Your site will be featured here for a full year and will also be linked in every blog post of mine. If I had the money, I would buy a domain, but unfortunately, I’m broke, and thus that’s all you’ll get. I hope it doesn’t seem like too much effort for a measly prize. .__.

Anyway, let me know what you think about it and if you’re interested in participating so I can draw up a list.

Recently I’ve been wondering if anyone actually reads my blogs. I understand that since I don’t have a cbox, people reply with comments to my blogs, but do any of you actually take the time to read them or give any of the feedback that I ask for? The three day birthday celebration has commenced at my house. For my /party/, I’m going out to karaoke with some friends. It’s right near a huge asian superstore so maybe for my present my parents will let me pick up an album?

EDIT: The only thing I haven’t completed are the site layouts page and the edits page which are undergoing renovations.

What is your favorite movie, and why?

I can’t really pick one favorite movie… Out of the ones I’ve seen /recently/, Inception takes the cake. The intense action sequences and intricate plot were executed extremely well. Not to mention the excellent cast, specifically Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Arthur, and the fact that I’m a total sucker for Christopher Nolan films after seeing Batman Begins and Batman: the Dark Knight.

What is your favorite type of muffin?

Chocolate. ’nuff said.

Why does food in cartoons always look so much better?

I’m not sure, but I’m pretty jealous. x)

Where is the weirdest place you have visited in your lifetime?

The train station in Paris. You have to pay to use the restrooms, it’s crazy!

Nah.

I have actually. I’ve been to India, Canada, Britain, France, Italy, and Switzerland.

They can try, but they definitely won’t be the same.

Nope, I was too little to get one and it’s so unsafe I never did once I was old enough.

I do, actually. I write stories, poems, draw pictures, etc. in it.

My first period is Latin and I absolutely adore my teacher <3 She's hilarious and always gets me in a great mood for the rest of the day. We talk about the weirdest and most random things in her class, I swear. And whenever something awkward comes up, the AP suddenly comes strolling into our class. -.-'
Second period I have choir. Unfortunately, I didn’t make varsity choir which I was pretty disappointed about. All my friends are in that class so I feel pretty crappy. I really gave it my all last year and I thought I did really well with my audition. Apparently the director didn’t think so.. I guess there’s always next year, right?
Third period is my PreCal class which I’m actually enjoying so far. It’s not particularly hard, and the teacher I have is pretty cool. He’s always super sarcastic and makes fun of people a lot so it’s never dull in his room.
And lastly, fourth period, my physics class. My. Teacher. Is. A. Wanker. He’s a nutter, I tell you. He keeps talking about his kids and how he was in the navy during class and then if someone interrupts him or is talking he gets mad and starts over. The other day this kid asked to borrow a pencil from another student and he told them if they didn’t shut up, he’d kick them out of class. Yeah, he’s a bit extreme. I understand what he’s taught so far, but he doesn’t seem to explain things too well. At least not well enough for me to fully understand. I’ll pull through, though.
First semester seems pretty interesting and I’m really excited to see how it’ll go.

So about the updates. I’m so lazy to blog so I usually end up adding a bunch of stuff and forgetting to log it for my blog entry. I can’t really give a set amount of graphics/resources I’ve added, but I know for a fact that I’ve added a bunch of B2ST icons. :3 There will be some wallpapers soon, and by that I mean whenever I get around to making the previews for them. Look forward to it ~

If anyone’s actually read this far, would you mind telling me what you’d like to see more of on the site? I’m thinking of adding premade website layouts since just updating with icons is getting boring. xD And any requests? I won’t be able to do customs but if there’s a band/artist/actor you’d like to see do leave your comments. ^^
